Want to build sand castles,
but don't have a beach?
Make a batch of Coffee Grounds
Castle Dough and mold your own
castle!

(Makes 3 cups of dough)







What You Will Need:

• 1 cup Dry Coffee Grounds (either fresh or used)
• 1 cup Cornmeal
• 1/4 cup Salt
• Water, as needed
• Mixing Bowl
• Mixing Spoon

What You Do:

• Mix all the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
• Slowly add water to make a dough, while still stirring the mixture.
• When the dough is the consistency that you like, knead it to make a smoother dough.

Variations:

• Instead of using water in this recipe, you could use cold coffee. This gives the dough a darker color.
• Like real sand at the beach, this dough does not dry hard and will crumble if molded and handled too much. Carefully use sand castle molds or shape your castle by hand. A fun temporary playdough!
• We recommend playing with this dough on a large tray, in a plastic bin, or in a sand and water table — it can be messy!
