Track and Snow

Here is a fun outdoor winter activity —
running and jumping snow hurdles!





What You Will Need:

• Snow
• Snow Shovel
• Open play area in yard

What You Do:

• Shovel a path of snow in an open play area of your yard.
• Pile the shoveled snow along the path at about 3 to 4 foot intervals to create snow hurdles. We like to make our hurdles varying heights, starting at 18 inches high and up.
• Have kids run along the path and jump over the snow hurdles. If they can jump easily over the hurdle, make it higher. If the snow hurdle is too high, take a little snow off the top.
• Who can jump the highest? The quickest?

Variations:

• If you have the space, you might want to create two paths with snow hurdles in your yard for kids to race their friends. Who finishes their race first?
